Grotto Networking

The 72nd IETF meeting was held in Dublin, Ireland. A number of WSON drafts were presented and many discussions ensued. The following gives a brief summary of the discussions and dispositions of the documents that we were involved with.

1. CCAMP related drafts
   1. WSON Framework -- This is a CCAMP WG document. An editing/discussion session was held and the following items were decided:
      
      1. Usage scenarios will be added to the document (contributions permitting).
      2. Impairment related discussions will not be added to this document.
      3. The definition of "light path"  needs to be resolved particularly with regard to the ITU-T optical channel (OCh) definition.
   2. G.694 (global) based Wavelength Labels for WSON -- This is a CCAMP WG document. Some minor formating changes were made to one field otherwise no changes.
   3. (Merged) WSON Signaling -- This is still an individual submission (with many authors). This was held back primarily due to the question of "lightpath" definition (see Framework issues). Will want to update after we make some progress on light path definition.
   4. WSON Information Model -- This document was sucessfully polled for advancement to WG status at the CCAMP meeting. Official advancement requires the chairs to poll the CCAMP e-mail list.
   5. WSON Information Encoding -- This was the first presentation of this work. Will be updating this to explore a few alternative encoding options per questions from the WG chairs.
2. PCE related drafts
   1. PCE WSON Extensions -- This was presented and continues to mature.  Some what gated by CCAMP Framework updates and "lightpath" definition resolution.
   2. Evaluation of PCE/WSON Architectures -- This was a one time informational presentation.
